Friday evening: arrive & unwind

Close your laptop, pack your bag and hop in the car or on the train. The hotel is easy to reach, whether you're driving or taking public transport. After check-in, you’ll step into a fresh, spacious and sporty room that’s all about comfort. Just what you need.

Not in the mood for anything complicated tonight? There are plenty of nice restaurants near the hotel, like Vooges Centraal or Klein Parijs. But if you’d rather dive straight into the city: book a table at Fishbar MONK for fresh fish and oysters, or head to Brick for burgers and cocktails in a laid-back vibe. End your evening with a walk along the beautifully lit Spaarne River.

Saturday: culture, coffee & getting lost in the prettiest streets

After a good breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to head out and explore. Start your day at the Frans Hals Museum, where you’ll find not only the famous Dutch Masters, but also creative exhibitions full of local stories. Next, visit the Teylers Museum, an absolute must-see. Even the building itself is something special. It’s like stepping back in time, with art, fossils, scientific instruments and rare books all under one roof. A real-life time machine.

In the mood for a coffee break? Head to cosy cafés like By Lima, Mogador or Mica. All great places to catch your breath with a good coffee and something sweet.

In the afternoon, it’s time to wander. The Vijfhoek is one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in Haarlem, with narrow streets, hidden courtyards, boutique shops and small galleries. Haarlem almost feels like a village here. Want to experience something truly local? Book a hofjes walk and explore the beautiful green courtyards that make Haarlem so unique.

In the evening, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dinner. A great option is DeDakkas, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of the city and a seasonal menu. Or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and tasty dishes at Spaarne66, right by the water.

Sunday: slow start & one last stroll

Take it easy on Sunday morning. Grab a coffee at Native or go for a gentle walk along the Spaarne before breakfast. After checking out, you don’t have to head home straight away — there's still time to enjoy the city.

One last must-see? Visit the Corrie ten Boom House — a small museum with a powerful story about courage and resistance during World War II. Moving and intimate. Prefer something lighter? Stroll along the Sunday flower market or browse the shops one last time for a souvenir or some fresh bread to take home.

And then it’s time to leave. But don’t be surprised if Haarlem stays with you just a little longer.
